Jordan January-April 2021: Toyota up to 39.1% share in market up 32.5%
The Toyota Land Cruiser remains the best-selling vehicle in Jordan.
New car sales in Jordan bounce back up 32.5% year-on-year over the first four months of 2021 to 9.863 units. Jordanian buyers are trusting the most popular carmakers over the period, with the Top 3 brands accounting for 69.9% of the market vs. 60.5% over the Full Year 2020. Toyota improves from 35.4% to 39.1% share, Hyundai from 16.1% to 21.6% and Kia from 9% to 9.2% in an unchanged podium. Mitsubishi is up two spots to #4 and 7.8%, overtaking Isuzu at 5.5% while Chinese-owned MG is also up two ranks to #6 and 3.2% share. Honda is up four to #7, doubling its share to 2.8% but Nissan drops three spots to #8 and 2.7% vs. 6.7% in FY2020. Another fast mover is Geely up 8 to #14 and 0.7% share.
The models ranking also consolidates around the most trusted vehicles, with the podium accounting for a whopping 41.8% share vs. 31% over the Full Year 2020. The Toyota Land Cruiser SW is stable at 15.7% share vs. 15.9% in 2020, while the Toyota Land Cruiser Pickup soars from 8.3% to 14.2% share and the Hyundai Tucson almost doubles its share from 6.3% to 11.9%. The Mitsubishi L200 is also in frank progression at 6% in 4th place, distancing the Isuzu N-Series and Toyota Hilux both reversing. The Kia Cerato and Toyota Corolla break into the Top 10.
