Israel April 2021: Hyundai (+32.1%), Skoda (+48.8%) stand out in market up 9.1% on two years ago

Thanks to our partner cartube.co.il, we can share with you today Israeli brands data for Israel, models data is a quarterly occurrence. New car sales in Israel are up 869.2% year-on-year in April to 24.832 units as April 2020 was impacted by Covid-19 lockdowns and down -88.7% on the year prior. April 2019 is a more meaningful comparison set and in that case April 2020 is up 9.1% on two years ago, a solid result. The year-to-date tally is now up 42.8% year-on-year to 125.279. All comparisons from now on are vs. April 2019. Hyundai (+32.1%) remains in the lead of the brands ranking with 15.7% share, identical to its YTD level. It distances Toyota (-8.3%) and Kia (-7.6%) both going against the market with drops vs. two years ago. Skoda (+48.8%) posts the largest gain in the Top 7 whereas Mitsubishi (-17.2%0 and Nissan (-3%) struggle. Below Mazda (+12%), Chevrolet (+88.9%) and Peugeot (+39.9%) shoot up, with Citroen (+51%) also posting a healthy gain just outside the Top 10. Among recent launches, Cupra is up 16 spots on March to #23, Aiways is up two to #38, Seres is back on at #46 and we welcome Geely at #50.
