Finland April 2021: Volvo (+95.8%), Seat (+194.6%) impress in market up 47.6%

The Finnish new car market bounces back up 47.6% year-on-year in April to 8.571 units but remains down -10.1% on April 2019. The year-to-date tally is now up 7% year-on-year to 35.995. Toyota (+43.7%) ends the month just below the market growth rate whereas Volvo (+95.8%) is up three spots on last month to land in 2nd place overall. Skoda (+31.3%) underperforms and Volkswagen (+48%) matches the market. Seat (+194.6%), Peugeot (+106.6%) and Hyundai (+100%) and Kia (+80.8%) shine further down.

Model-wise, the Skoda Octavia (+72.7%) cements its domination above the Toyota Corolla (+16.4%) losing share and Yaris (+94.3%) gaining some. The best performer in the Top 10 is the Volvo XC60 (+304%) quadrupling its sales year-on-year with the Toyota RAV4 (+132.8%) more than doubling them. The Volvo XC40 (+63.5%) and Citroen C3 (+60%) also impress while further down, the Seat Leon (+545%), Hyundai i20 (+200%), Peugeot 208 (+193.1%), Ford Kuga (+137.5%), VW Tiguan (+125%), Kia Ceed (+103.3%), Mercedes A-Class (+103.2%) and Dacia Duster (+100%) stand out.
