Bulgaria April 2021: Dacia and Dokker lead, sales up 184%

The Dacia Dokker is the best-selling vehicle in Bulgaria in April and YTD.

New car sales in Bulgaria leap up 184% year-on-year in April to 2.991 units due to a locked down April 2020. The year-to-date tally is now up 20.8% to 9.931. Dacia (+128.4%) is the most popular carmaker for the month and year-to-date at 12.9% and 12.4% respectively despite trailing the market, as does Renault (+139.6%) in 2nd place and 12.3% share vs. 9.8% so far this year. Volkswagen (+227.8%) and Skoda (+242%) on the other hand outpace the overall growth to end the month in 3rd and 4th place. Citroen (+1209.1%), Nissan (+393.8%), Kia (+264.7%), Peugeot (+204.7%) and Mercedes (+190.5%) also beat the market in the remainder of the Top 10, only Toyota (+128%) isn’t that lucky.

Over in the models ranking, the Dacia Dokker easily holds the top spot with 7.4% share vs. 6% so far this year, with the Renault Clio at #2 again with 4.4% of the market. The Nissan Qashqai, Toyota Corolla and Renault Master follow to round out the Top 5. The Citroen C3 is down two spots on March to #6 but remains in third place year-to-date above the Renault Clio and below the Toyota Corolla. The VW T-Roc is up 11 ranks on last month to #7, the Renault Captur up 5 to #9 and the Kia Ceed up 29 to #10. We welcome the Skoda Enyaq at #95 and the Renault Arkana at #207.
