Luxembourg February 2021: VW ends Mercedes domination, Peugeot (+49.3%) stands out in market off -22%

Peugeot sales are up 49.3% year-on-year in a market down -22%.

New car sales in Luxembourg brake in February at -22% year-on-year to 3.742 units which leads to a year-to-date tally off -17.8% to 7.489. Despite falling faster than the market, Volkswagen (-29.1%) ends five consecutive months of Mercedes (-28.5%) domination in the local sales charts. In fact, it is the first time since last July that Volkswagen is #1 in Luxembourg as the August charts were topped by BMW (+1.6%) in outstanding shape this month at #2. Volkswagen also reclaims the YTD top spot. Peugeot (+49.3%) posts by far the best year-on-year performance near the top of the ranking and advances to #4 both for the month and YTD. Only Tesla (+58.3%) and Citroen (+9.7%) also manage an uptick in the remainder of the Top 20.
