Slovakia Full Year 2020: Skoda Fabia 3peats at #1, Scala #5, sales down -24.9%

New car sales in Slovakia skid -24.9% year-on-year in 2020 to 76.305 units vs. 101.568 in 2019. Brand leader Skoda (-15.6%) resists markedly better than the market, resulting in a much improved market share from 19.9% to 22.4%. Big change below: Hyundai (-23.7%) and Kia (-24%) both overtake Volkswagen (-30.1%) to rank #2 and #3 respectively. Toyota (+3.5%) manages the only year-on-year gain in the Top 10 and Top 20 and advances to 5th overall. Renault (-6.6%) and Peugeot (-21.9%) also outpace the market in the remainder of the Top 10, with Renault gaining 3 spots to #7. Further down, Ssangyong (+515.8%), Smart (+337.5%), Land Rover (+25.6%), Jeep (+10.7%), Porsche (+1%) and Lexus (+1%) all manage year-on-year upticks.
Over in the models ranking, the Skoda Fabia marks three consecutive years on top ahead of its larger sibling the Skoda Octavia, with the Kia Ceed and Hyundai i30 rounding out the Top 4 like last year. The Skoda Scala is up five spots to #5, the Skoda Kamiq lands at #6 ahead of the Renault Clio and Hyundai Tucson. The Skoda Karoq is down two spots to #9 while the Dacia Duster sinks 5 ranks to #10.
