Belgium January 2021: BMW leads, breaks share record at 11.8% in market down -27.2%
BMW holds a record 11.8% of the Belgian market in January.
New car sales in Belgium skid down -27.2% year-on-year in January to 37.735 units. BMW (-17.3%) reclaims the brands top spot and smashes its share record to 11.8%, eclipsing the 10.5% it hit last November. Volkswagen (-31.6%) struggles and distances three over-performing brands: Peugeot (-13.8%), Mercedes (-14.6%) and Ford (-18.1%). Volvo (+7.4%) scores the only year-on-year gain in the Top 10 just as Renault (-40.6%), Opel (-39.7%) and Audi (-34.7%) are hit full frontal. Further down the charts, Tesla (+85.2%), Mitsubishi (+10.8%) and Mini (+3.1%) make themselves noticed.
