Kazakhstan November 2020: Hyundai reclaims brands top spot off Chevrolet, sales up 21.6%

Hyundai is the most popular carmaker in Kazakhstan in November.

New vehicle sales in Kazakhstan continue to power ahead in November, marking a 4th consecutive double-digit year-on-year gain at +21.6% to 9.220 units. The year-to-date tally is now up 24.4% to 82.684. After new local assembler Chevrolet took control of the market last month, Hyundai (+29.9%) reclaims the Kazakh top spot for the third time this year after last January and August, relegating Chevrolet (+2860.3%) to second place. However it’s Lada (-18.2%), in difficulty this month, that remains leader year-to-date at 19.8% share vs. 18.9% for Hyundai. Volkswagen (+288.9%), JAC (+107%) and GAZ (+77.6%) also impress in the remainder of the Top 10.

Model-wise, the now locally-assembled Chevrolet Nexia advances one spot to pole position with 10.9% share, followed closely by the Hyundai Accent (+102.5%) at 10.7%. Leader last month, the Chevrolet Cobalt retrogrades to third place, distancing the YTD champion the Lada Granta (+28.7%). The GAZ Gazelle (+70.8%) is the only additional Top 10 model to outpace the market just as the Toyota Camry (-41.6%) and Lada 4×4 (-26%). Finally, notice the new JAC J7 sedan breaking into the Top 50 at #45.
