Israel October 2020: Toyota (+51.2%), Hyundai (+72.1%) triumph in market up 4.1%

The Israeli new car market edges up 4.1% year-on-year in October to 14.559 units, meaning the year-to-date total is now down -15.9% to 195.086, a relatively good performance in the Covid-19 context. Toyota (+51.2%) snaps the brands lead for the second time this year after April and the third time in the past 12 months after last December. The Japanese carmaker manages a 19.3% share which is way above the 12.7% it commands YTD while Hyundai (+72.1%) is also in outstanding shape at 18.7% vs. 15.7%. In contrast Kia (-27.2%) is in great difficulty on the third step of the podium. Renault (+101%), Mitsubishi (+3.4%) and Skoda (+0.7%) are the only additional Top 10 gainers just as Seat (-34.4%), Suzuki (-31.8%) and Nissan (-23%) are in total perdition. Further down, notice Alfa Romeo (+783.3%), Opel (+224.4%), Ssangyong (+116.7%), MG (+111.1%) and Jaguar (+83.3%) all positing surreal gains.
