Israel June 2015: Toyota Corolla catches up to Kia Sportage
The Kia Sportage is #1 in Israel for the third consecutive month.

Robust result for Israeli new car sales in June, up 10% year-on-year to 25.467 units which brings the year-to-date tally halfway through 2015 to 143.907 registrations, up 6% on 2014. Hyundai remains the most popular manufacturer in the country, evolving like the market at +10% to 3.614 units and 14.2%, ahead of Kia at 12.9% (+15%) and Toyota at 9.5% (+3%). Mitsubishi (+66%) and Suzuki (+55%) lodge spectacular gains and both overtake Skoda (+10%) while Mazda is down 24% to 7th place. Notice also Mercedes (+69%), Seat (+72%), Peugeot (+84%), Lexus (+85%) and Subaru (+102%) all frankly outperforming the market this month.

The Kia Sportage is the best-selling vehicle in Israel for the third month running thanks to 1.256 sales for a strong 4.9% market share, however it remains #3 year-to-date (5.699 units, +250% on 2014) and this month its advantage over the #2, the Toyota Corolla, is a mere 16 units. The Corolla still reigns supreme so far in 2015 despite sales down 12% year-on-year to 7.302 in six months. The Kia Picanto (#3 in June, #2 year-to-date) makes it two Kias on the Israeli podium. Other great June performers include the Mazda3 back up 4 spots on last month to #4, the Mitsubishi Attrage up 26 to #6, Mitsubishi Outlander up 7 to #7, Peugeot 301 up 155 to #17 and the Mitsubishi Lancer up 49 to #19.
