New car sales in Slovenia remain in a rut, enduring a 5th double-digit fall, and 8th year-on-year drop for the year at -16.5% to 4.441 registrations. This leads to a year-to-date tally down -24.7% to 42.232. Brand leader Renault is stable but weak at 13.2% share vs. 16.1% so far this year, distancing Skoda (+4.3%) in solid shape and Volkswagen (-42.1%) in disarray. Hyundai (+70.6%), Dacia (+49.7%) and Kia (+20.9%) defy the plunging market with double-digit lifts in the Top 10 just as Seat (+5.5%) also posts a robust result for the month. Model-wise, the Renault Clio (+67.1%), Skoda Octavia (+54.8%) and Hyundai Kona (+177.6%) form an extremely dynamic and gravity-defying podium, with the Skoda Kamiq (#9), Dacia Duster (+142.5%), Hyundai Tucson (+94.7%), Peugeot 2008 (+11%) and 208 (+10%) also very strong in the remainder of the Top 10. Note the Hyundai Kona absolutely smashes its all-time Slovenian ranking record from #15 last March to #3.
