Singapore July 2020: Mercedes (+33.7%) snaps top spot again in recovering market (-31%)
Mercedes is #1 in Singapore for the 4th time this year.
After imploding in April (-90.1%), May (-99.2%), and June (-87.2%), the Singaporean new car market is on the mend in July at “only” -31% year-on-year to 4.825 registrations, meaning the year-to-date tally is now down -54.5% to 21.318. Mercedes (+33.7%) lodges a spectacular surge and leaps up 4 spots on June to take control of the Singaporean brands charts for the third time in the past 4 months and the fourth time this year at 15.8% share, toppling Toyota (-40.5%) and Honda (-61.4%). Toyota reclaims the YTD lead off Honda in the process. It’s a month for luxury brands in Singapore, with Rolls Royce (+150%), Land Rover (+142.9%), Porsche (+92.5%), Maserati (+88.9%), Jaguar (+60%), Ferrari (+50%), BMW (+11%) and Mini (+2.1%) all posting fantastic gains, Ssangyong (+366.7%) and Peugeot (+111.1%) being among the odd ones out.
