The Skoda Scala breaks into the Polish Top 10 for the first time in June.

30/07 update: Now with H1 2020 Top 120 models.

The Polish new car market skids -20% year-on-year in June to 35.133 units, a major improvement on the -54.8% of June but still a drastic fall, leading to a H1 2020 volume down -35% to 176.800. Skoda (+6.7%) is negotiating the post-Covid19 recovery a lot better than the large majority of carmakers, securing the only year-on-year gain in the Top 6 and one of only two Top 15 brands in positive alongside Mercedes (+9.7%). Skoda hits 15.7% share in June vs. just 11.5% for Toyota (-23.4%) which however retains the YTD pole position by the skin of its teeth, namely 101 sales. Volkswagen (-25.4%) returns to the podium despite a gargantuan loss, distancing Renault (-16.6%), Dacia (-32.9%) and Kia (-25.7%). BMW (-15.1%), Audi (#10) and Volvo (#13) also shine.

Model-wise, the Skoda Fabia (+24.9%) beautifully repeats at #1 thanks to a very impressive year-on-year gain, distancing the Dacia Duster (-17.2%) and Skoda Octavia (-21.2%). The Toyota Yaris (+31.8%) also gets a boost at #4, as does the Renault Clio (+7.1%) at #5 and the Toyota C-HR (+39.7%) at #8. Still leader year-to-date, the Toyota Corolla (-55%) crumbles down to #6 for the month, just above the Toyota RAV4 (-22.4%). The Skoda Scala breaks into the Polish Top 10 for the first time at #10, the Skoda Karoq (+35.9%) is up 13 spots on May to a record #11 which is also its first incursion into the Polish Top 20 after reaching a previous best of #21 in September 2019. The Volvo XC60 (+158.5%), Toyota Aygo (+73.2%), Skoda Kodiaq (+38.8%), Hyundai Tucson (+10.4%), VW Tiguan (+9.1%), Skoda Superb (+4.8%), Renault Captur (+2.7%) and Peugeot 208 (#29) also stand out.
