New Caledonia (France) June 2020: Citroen (+112.5%) helps market surge 35.2%

The Citroen C3 ranks #2 in New Caledonia in June.

As a French territory, New Caledonia, an archipelago located north-east of Australia, benefits from the government stimulus that kick started on June 1 and sees its June registrations soar 35.2% year-on-year to 810 units, meaning the year-to-date tally already almost levels with 2019 at 3.413, down just -3.4%. Toyota (+21.2%) remains the most popular brand even though it trails the market as does #2 Dacia (+11.9%) but Citroen (+112.5%), Ford (+87.1%), Hyundai (+68.1%) and Renault (+63.4%) all gain share year-on-year in the remainder of the Top 10. Model-wise, the Dacia Duster (+61%) reclaims the top spot it holds YTD above the Citroen C3 (+100%), Toyota Hilux (+87.5%) and Hyundai Creta (+19%). The Peugeot Partner (+1000%), Hyundai Tucson (+475%), Citroen Berlingo (+200%) and Isuzu D-Max (+81.8%) also post spectacular gains in the remainder of the Top 12.
