China LCV March 2020: Foton topples Wuling in market down -28%

The Foton Light Truck is the #1 LCV in China in March, the JAC Light Truck is #3.

According  to LMC Automotive data, Light Commercial Vehicle wholesales drop -28% year-on-year in March to 270.323 units, pulling the year-to-date tally down -36% to 527.497. The brands ranking reveals a spectacular change-of-guard: Foton (+2%) defies the market slump to take the lead both for the month and YTD, leaving Wuling (-44%) in the dust. Dongfeng (-31%), Changan (-39%) and JAC (-18%) follow just as Great Wall (+2%) posts the only additional year-on-year gain in the Top 10 and Ford (-8%) and CNHTC (-16%) resist better. Model-wise, the surprising strength of Foton continues with the Foton Light Truck (+3%) towering above last year’s leader the Wuling Mini Truck (-24%) both in March and YTD. The JAC Light Truck also appears on the podium this month.
