Latvia Full Year 2019: Toyota Corolla and RAV4 dominate market up 8%

New car sales in Latvia enjoy a 6th consecutive year of gain in 2019 at +8% to 18.235 registrations. The models ranking is completely reshuffled this year, with the Toyota Corolla (+222.7%) taking advantage of the new generation hatch replacing the Auris to triple its sales year-on-year and land in pole position. This is the first time a Toyota is the #1 vehicle in Latvia since 2009 when the Toyota Avensis reigned. But Toyota doesn’t stop there, and also places the RAV4 (+56.3%) in 2nd place thanks to a new and much improved model. In fact the RAV4 ranked #1 monthly four times in 2019 vs. five for the Corolla. The VW Tiguan (+26.6%) ensures the podium is only composed of fast-growing nameplates, sending last year’s leader the VW Golf (-24.8%) tumbling down to #4. The Skoda Octavia (+15.7%) advances to #5 while the Skoda Kodiaq (+93.7%) and Dacia Duster (+88.5%) both break into the Top 10.
