Vietnam November 2019: Mitsubishi Xpander repeats at #1 in market down -2.3%
The Vietnamese new vehicle market drops -2.3% year-on-year in November to 29.846 registrations, yet a very strong start of the year means the year-to-date tally remains comfortably in positive at +14.5% and 289.128 units. Toyota (-11%) remains the most popular manufacturer at 22.2% share vs. 24.4% so far in 2019, distancing Thaco-Kia (+11.5%) on the mend at 17.7% share vs. 17.3%. Mitsubishi (+125.2%) continues to impress in third place above Honda (+4.2%) but Ford (-23.7%) and Mazda (-34.9%) both struggle mightily. Suzuki (+211.8%), Hino (+20.6%) and Isuzu (+19.9%) also shine in the remainder of the Top 10. Model-wise, the Mitsubishi Xpander (+871.8%) repeats at #1 above the Toyota Vios (-0.7%) but remains 6.700 units below year-to-date. The Ford Ranger (-26%), Mazda3 (-31.5%) and Toyota Fortuner (-21.7%) round up the Top 5 is dismal fashion. Notice also the Suzuki Ertiga up to #10 and the Honda HR-V (+78.1%) up to #15.
