Ukraine October 2019: Renault (+128.1%) lifts market to highest in 2 years, Logan #1 for the first time in 7 years

New car sales in Ukraine soar 24.4% year-on-year in October to 8.971 units, the largest monthly volume since December 2017 (9.179), lifting the year-to-date tally up 4.7% to 70.694, the largest at this time of the year since 2014 (82.591) but still down -60.9% on 2013 (180.831). Renault (+128.1%) posts another smashing result and is now up to 20.4% share vs. 15.9% so far this year, distancing Toyota (+37.5%), Kia (+59.6%) and Volkswagen (+33%) meaning the entire Top 4 brands outpace an already galloping market this month. In fact, only Chery (+77.5%) and Peugeot (+39.8%) manage to gain more ground than the market in the remainder of the Top 16, with Ford (-34.2%), Mercedes (-32.1%), Nissan (-22.1%), Suzuki (-18.5%) and Mazda (-16.8%) all struggling mightily. Model-wise, the Renault Logan (+190.9%) almost triples its sales year-on-year and snaps the pole position for the first time since November 2012, toppling the YTD leader, the Kia Sportage (+67.9%) with the Renault Duster (+62.8%) rounding out the podium. The Toyota RAV4 (+44.3%) makes it 3 SUVs in the Top 4, the Renault Sandero (+123.5%) is also in outstanding shape as are the Skoda Kodiaq (+185.1%) and Toyota Prado (+82%) in the remainder of the Top 10. The VW Touareg (+248.7%) is up to #18, the Seat Ateca (+650%) up to #21 and the Renault Kadjar (+1660%) up to #25.
