Luxembourg October 2019: Mercedes repeats at #1 in market up 13.8%

Mercedes is the best-selling brand in Luxembourg for the 2nd month in a row.

2/12 update: Now with the Top 10 models.

The Luxembourg new car market soars 13.8% year-on-year in October to 4.891 registrations, leading to a year-to-date volume up 2.7% to 47.929. Mercedes (-1.8%) repeats as the #1 brand in the country with 13.5% share, holding off a very energetic Volkswagen (+51.7%) at 10.7%, simply compensating for particularly weak year-ago volumes. BMW (-20%) vastly underperforms but remains in third place overall, while Audi (+292.9%), Renault (+99.5%), Skoda (+72.4%) and Volvo (+26.8%) also frankly outpace the market in the remainder of the Top 10. Further down, Porsche (+252%), Seat (+79.5%), Toyota (+60.3%) and Mazda (+44.7%) make themselves noticed. Model-wise, the Mercedes A-Class (+10%) remains in pole position at a fantastic 5.6% share, well above the VW Golf (+86.4%) at #2 and the Mercedes GLC (stable) at #3. The Volvo XC40 shoots up to an estimated 4th place, cracking the YTD Top 10 in the process at #9.

Previous month: Luxembourg September 2019: Mercedes snaps first lead in almost a year, market up 27.4%

One year ago: Luxembourg October 2018: A-Class #1, GLC #2 lift Mercedes to 15.6% share
