Hungary October 2019: Ford, Skoda, VW best-selling brands in market up 13.8%
Ford is the #1 brand in Hungary in October, the Focus ranks #7 overall.
The Hungarian new light vehicle market gains 13.8% year-on-year in October to 12.374 registrations, leading to a year-to-date tally up 10.4% to 127.013. Including light commercials, sales are up 11.6% YTD to 148.795 units. Ford (+12.7%) takes the lead of the brands ranking for the month above Skoda (+23%) and Volkswagen (+114.3%) both up 5 spots on September. Suzuki (-27%) remains weak but reenters the Top 10 at #4 and remains by far the best-seller YTD at 16.9% share vs. 9.3% for the #2 Ford. Kia (+85.7%) surges to #6. The best YTD performers include Suzuki (+31%), Fiat (+38.3%), Kia (+35.2%), Jeep (+24.5%), Volvo (+24.3%), Ssangyong (+50.6%), Mini (+78.9%), Smart (+230.3%), Tesla (+406.2%), DS (+225%), Maserati (+72.7%) and Bentley (+350%) while at the other end of the scale Lada (-49.3%), Jaguar (-43%), Nissan (-28.6%), Subaru (-22.4%) and Mitsubishi (-21.9%) all struggle. Model-wise, the Skoda Octavia (+24.4%) soars 3 spots on September to snap the top spot, two percentage points of market share above the Suzuki Vitara (-47.2%) still in dire straits but back inside the monthly Top 10 at #2, and the Kia Cee’d (+153.9%) scoring another outstanding month at #3. The VW T-Cross appears in the YTD Top 100 at #84.
