Morocco October 2019: Light commercials lift market (+4.6%) for 2nd straight month
Toyota sales leap 18.8% year-on-year in October.
After 8 straight months of decline, new light vehicle sales in Morocco seem to now be on the mend, managing a 2nd consecutive month of year-on-year gain in October at +4.6% to 13.821 units, including 11.856 cars (+0.7%) and 1.976 Light Commercials (+35.6%). Over 10 months, the Moroccan market is now down -7.3% to 130.684 units. Dacia (-5.5%) remains ultra-dominant at 29.7% share despite a slight drop, distancing sister company Renault (+6.8%) at 13.4%. Both brands hold a gargantuan 43.1% of the Moroccan market this month. Peugeot (-0.6%) is up two spots on September to return on the podium, distancing Hyundai (+4.5%) and Volkswagen (+3%) while Citroen (-1.9%) and Toyota (+18.8%) both overtake Fiat (-13.4%). Opel (+110.1%) continues to align spectacular gains at #9 vs. #17 over the Full Year 2018 while Nissan (-16.8%) struggles and rounds up the Top 10.
