Colombia July 2019: Renault (+60.2%) drives market up 18.3%

The Renault Logan is the best-selling vehicle in Colombia in July.

Outstanding month for new vehicle sales in Colombia, up 18.3% year-on-year in July to 22.904 units, its largest uptick so far this year, which leads to a YTD volume up 4.7% to 139.114. In the brands ranking, Renault (+60.2%) continues to stun with a mammoth 24.6% market share vs. just 18.6% for its archenemy Chevrolet (+1.6%), trailing the market by a large margin as does Nissan (+2.9%) in third place.

In fact, only Toyota (+24.8%) and Volkswagen (+24%) also manage to outpace the market in the Top 10, with Hyundai (+10%) also delivering a double-digit gain. Below, Peugeot (+102.3%), Citroen (+73.1%), Fiat (+54.5%), Mini (+51.2%), Mitsubishi (+48%), Foton (+46.3%), JAC (+39.4%), JMC (+35.6%), Subaru (+34.1%) and Audi (+24.4%) also shine.

The Renault Logan (+30%) overtakes the Renault Sandero (+25.2%) to snap the models pole position for July, with the Duster (+51.5%) ensuring the podium is 100% Renault. The Chevrolet Beat (-10.5%) is up 3 spots to #3, distancing the Renault Sandero Stepway (+25.5%) and Chevrolet Onix (+120.4%). The Renault Kwid, albeit down two ranks on June to #7, remains by far the most popular new launch, joined this month by the VW T-Cross at #38.
