Lebanon First Half 2019: Toyota Land Cruiser, Nissan X-Trail shoot up in market down -6.5%
Toyota Land Cruiser sales are up 70.4% in a Lebanese market down -6.5%.
New light vehicle sales in Lebanon drop -6.5% year-on-year to 19.322 units. Brand leader Toyota (+11.5%) goes against the grain and posts the only lift in the Top 7, joined in the Top 12 by Lexus (+198.8%) and Honda (+77.4%). In contrast, below Nissan (-5.4%) at #2, Kia (-39.1%), Hyundai (-24.7%), Suzuki (-16.3%) and Renault (-14.6%) all implode. Model-wise, the Toyota Land Cruiser (+70.4%) sails off into the distance at a mammoth 12.9% share, almost double the sales of #2 Nissan Patrol (-12.3%), distancing the Toyota Prado (-13.9%) and Kia Picanto (-19.7%). The Nissan X-Trail (+58.4%), Honda Civic (+70.6%), Lexus LX (+250%) and Chevrolet Spark also impress in the Top 20.
