Vietnam April 2019: Mazda3 posts first ever win in market edging down 0.5%

The Mazda3 is the best-selling vehicle in Vietnam this month.

New vehicle sales in Vietnam are almost immobile in April at -0.5% to 21.021 units, leading to a year-to-date tally up 23.9% to 99.956. Chaco-Kia (-16.9%) reclaims the #1 manufacturer title for the first time since last July but Toyota (-1.1%) remains firmly in command year-to-date at 23.2% share vs. 17.2%. Just below, Mazda (+28.9%) and Ford (+58.9%) both post splendid scores in contrast with Honda (-37.6%) rounding up the Top 5. Mitsubishi (+187.4%), Nissan (+182.9%) and Isuzu (+29.5%) also sparkle further down. Model-wise, the Mazda3 (+28.6%) spectacularly takes the overall lead for the first time in history, displacing the Toyota Vios (-46.3%) for just 9 units. The Toyota Fortuner is up 7 spots on last month to #3 ahead of the Kia Cerato (+18.4%), Mazda CX-5 (+37.3%) and Kia Morning (+15.4%) all galloping ahead.
