Slovenia March 2019: Skoda Octavia resists Dacia Sandero attack

The Dacia Sandero is up 7-fold year-on-year in March.

The Slovenian new car market drops a steep -7% year-on-year in March to 7.304 units, leading to a Q1 volume tilting back into negative at -0.5% to 20.262. Volkswagen (-7.8%) and Skoda (+24.3%) both overtake Renault (-22.1%) to take the lead of the brands ranking, followed by Opel (-9.6%). Dacia (+146.4%) posts a fantastic gain, the largest in the Top 20 below Jeep (+388.2%), with Smart (+440%), Volvo (+30.4%) and Seat (+16.1%) also strong. Model-wise, the Skoda Octavia (+42.8%) leaps up to the top spot for only two sales above a Dacia Sandero (+621.2%) literally on fire. The VW T-Roc (+92.3%) and Skoda Fabia (+72.9%) also shine.
