Singapore April 2019: Hyundai (+69%), Kia (+47.5%) impress in market down 1.1%

Hyundai sales surge 69% year-on-year in Singapore this month.

New light vehicle sales in Singapore drop -1.1% year-on-year in April to 6.896 units, leading to a year-to-date tally up 10.6% to 27.402. Honda (+7.4%) retains the brands lead thanks to a market-defying gain to 22.8% share, a comfortable 400+ unit-margin above #2 Toyota (-5%) falling faster than the market to 16.8% share. Hyundai (+69%) impresses and bypasses Mercedes (+4.9%) to climb onto the podium, while Kia (+47.5%) and BMW (+12.2%) also post splendid gains in the remainder of the Top 10. Further down, Suzuki (+950%), Perodua (+180%), Seat (+172.7%), Maserati (+41.7%) and Porsche (+29.8%) make themselves noticed.
