Renault remains the most popular carmaker in Argentina.
It’s an 11th straight month of double-digit fall for new vehicles in Argentina at a scary -51.3% to 37.257 units, leading to a YTD tally in total perdition at -49.6% to 175.791. Renault (-48.4%) manages to fall slightly slower than the market to score a third consecutive win at 15.4% share, distancing Volkswagen (-52.5%) and Toyota (-41.9%) which posts the slimmest drop in the Top 7. Jeep (-29.8%) and Nissan (-37.9%) also resist relatively well in context whereas Peugeot (-61.1%) and Ford (59.1%) get annihilated. Further down, Shineray (+340%), Subaru (+78.3%) and Ram (+8.3%) post the only gain in the Top 30 with JAC (#37), Great Wall (#30) and Haval (#35) the most popular newcomers. Model-wise, below the untouchable Toyota Hilux (-25.4%) halving the market drop to reach 6% share, the Chevrolet Onix (-45%) steps up one spot on March to #2 and the VW Gol (-54.8%) is up 3 to #3. The Fiat Cronos (-13.1%) resists best in the Top 10 with the VW Amarok (-31.2%) the only other nameplate managing to lose less ground than the market. The Honda WR-V (#61) and Chevrolet Equinox (#62) top recent launches ahead of the Chery Tiggo 3 (#83) and Tiggo 2 (#92).
