UK nations March 2019: Citroen places C3 at #1 and C4 Cactus at #3 in Northern Ireland
The Citroen C3 is the best-selling vehicle in Northern Ireland in March.
Thanks to our partnership with SMMT we can share with you the Top 10 best-sellers for all UK nations in March. Keep in mind this is a zoom in by nation, all sales figures are included in the March UK update. This month with 7.129 units Northern Ireland (+0.1%) stands out with a very meagre year-on-year gain, the only one of all UK nations this month, but remains in negative YTD at -3% to 16.676. England (-2.9%) is the next best performer at 398.404 sales and -2.4% YTD to 605.326, followed by Wales (-3.4%) at 15.783 and -1.7% to 23.517 YTD but for Scotland (-9.4%) it’s a month to forget at 35.904 registrations and -3.5% YTD to 54.035.
This time the Ford Fiesta only manages 2 top spots: in England and Wales, and ranks #2 in Scotland and Northern Ireland, but #1 YTD there one lonely unit above the VW Golf. The Vauxhall Corsa is #1 in Scotland and #2 in England and the surprise of the month is delivered by the Citroen C3, taking the overall lead in Northern Ireland. This happened once before: in December 2017. Another Citroen shines in Northern Ireland: the C4 Cactus at #3. The Ford Kuga is #2 Wales, the Mercedes A-Class #3 in England both this month and YTD vs. #4 and #5 respectively in the UK, and also #6 in Scotland, the VW Golf is #3 in Scotland and the Ford Focus #3 in Wales. Also of note is the Toyota Yaris managing a Top 10 finish in 3 nations: #4 in Wales and #10 in England and Northern Ireland, the Renault Clio #8 in Northern Ireland and the Dacia Sandero #9 in Wales.
