Vietnam February 2019: Honda CR-V repeats at #1 in market up 6%

The Honda CR-V is the best-selling nameplate in Vietnam again.

The Vietnamese new vehicle market is up 6% year-on-year in February to 13.143 registrations, leading to a year-to-date volume up 21.3% to 46.627. Toyota (-19.7%), Thaco-Kia (-21%) and Mazda (-15.1%) remain the best-selling manufacturers in the country but all freefall. In contrast, Honda (+223.7%) more than triples its sales year-on0year thanks to the CR-V (+7292.3%) once again the #1 nameplate in Vietnam this month. Ford (+50.5%) and Lexus (+950%) also excel. Below the CR-V, the Mazda3 (+14.5%) holds ono the #2 spot, just as the Toyota Vios (-58.7%), #1 for 10 of the past 11 years, continues to stumble down. The Toyota Fortuner (+16166.7%), Ford Ecosport (+384.8%), Ford Everest (+377.8%), Kia Sedona (+101.3%), Mitsubishi Outlander (+56.1%) and Honda City (+25.6%) all post spectacular gains in the remainder of the Top 20.
