San Marino Full Year 2018: Volkswagen widens gap with Fiat, Suzuki on podium

San Marino is a country landlocked within Italy. Its new car market edges down 0.9% year-on-year in 2018 to 1.244 registrations. Volkswagen (+4.9%) remains ultra-dominant here, improving its share to 15.5% whereas “local” Fiat (-13.2%) drops 1.5 percentage point to 10.5%. Suzuki (+0.8%) brilliantly climbs onto the podium with 9.6%, eclipsing Audi (-21.9%) by just one sale. Toyota (+46.3%) and Jeep (+75%) both post spectacular gains to land at #5 and #6 respectively, with Dacia (+5.4%) the only other Top 10 carmaker to grow when Opel (-20%), Renault (-16.7%) and Skoda (-9.8%) skid down. Volvo (+140%), Peugeot (+100%), Mini (+66.7%), Mazda (+55.6%), Citroen (+53.3%) and Honda (+40%) also shine.
