Based on data released by our Eastern European partner CE Auto, new car sales in the Republic of Macedonia surge 26.3% year-on-year to 552 units, lifting the year-to-date tally up 3.1% to 4.901. We have a surprise leader this month: the VW Passat hitting 9.1% share, most probably linked to a large fleet order. It dominates this month’s charts head and shoulders, selling almost 2.5 times the amount of the #2, the Dacia Duster, and as a result breaks into the YTD Top 10 at #8. The Ford Fiesta (-5%), Toyota Corolla and Citroen Jumper (+38%) round up the Top 5 wth the Ford Kuga, Toyota Auris and Peugeot 301 also making it into the October Top 10 whereas the YTD leader, the Citroen C3, drops to just 1 sale this month.
