Pakistan November 2018: Toyota (+2%) resists in market down 17%

The Toyota Corolla gains 9% to hit 28.3% share in Pakistan.

November sales of locally-produced light vehicles in Pakistan are now available thanks to PAMA. This is afair representation of what the best-selling cars in the country are, given high taxes make new car imports negligible. The market is down a harsh 17% year-on-year to 17.507 registrations, yet the year-to-date tally remains comfortably in positive territory at +6.8% and 235.513 units. Both Suzuki (-25%) and Honda (-23%) pull the market down while Toyota (+2%) resists and newcomer JAC is down 24% on last month. Model-wise, the Toyota Corolla soars 9% to 28.3% share vs. 21.2% so far this year, selling more than double the Suzuki Mehran (-44%), WagonR (-0.1%) and Honda Civic (-2%). The Suzuki Cultus (+13%) rounds up the Top 5 and manages the only double-digit gain in market.
