Colombia October 2018: Renault (+20%) stays on top in market up 9.3%

The Renault Sandero (+26%) cements its domination in Colombia.

Colombian new vehicle sales are up for the 6th time in the past 7 months in October at +9.3% to 21.537 registrations, leading to a year-to-date tally up 2.9% to 197.260 units. Renault (+20%) is starting to put serious pressure on traditional leader Chevrolet (-10%), scoring a 2nd monthly win in a row and 4th in the past 8 months at 20.8% share vs. 18% for the American brand. Volkswagen (+68%), Mercedes (+36%), Toyota (+32%), Mazda (+27%) and Suzuki (+23%) all post stunning gains in the remainder of the Top 10. Further down, Fiat (+355%), International (+305%), Jeep (+229%), Citroen (+61%), Volvo (+52%), Mini (+50%), JMC (+45%), Subaru (+40%), Peugeot (+35%) and Foton (+29%) are among the greatest performers. Over in the models ranking, Renault justifies its leadership by placing three nameplates in the Top 4: the Sandero (+26%), Logan (-1%) and Duster (+38%) while the Chevrolet Spark (-29%) is back up three spots on September to #2 despite a heavy loss. The Mazda2 (+128%), VW Voyage (+122%), Toyota Prado (+96%) and Fortuner (+43%) post spectacular gains further down.
