UK nations September 2018: Hyundai Tucson scores first English Top 10

Thanks to our partnership with SMMT we can share with you the Top 10 best-sellers for all UK nations in September. Keep in mind this is a zoom in by nation, all sales figures are already included in the September 2018 UK update. All nations evolve similarly this month, with Northern Ireland (-15.2%) resisting best at 5.365 sales alongside Wales (-16.9%) at 11.942, England (-20.6%) logically matching the UK 20.5% decline at 289.845 and Scotland faring worst at -22% to 31.161. Year-to-date, Wales and Northern Ireland both lose 4.6% to 64.153 and 43.772 units respectively, England is down 7.4% to 1.646.573 and Scotland here too is the weakest performer at -10.4% to 151.770.
The Vauxhall Crossland X is up to a record 2nd place in Scotland.
Like last month the Ford Fiesta tops 3 our of 4 nations but they are not the same: in September it is England, Northern Ireland and Wales with Scotland going to the Vauxhall Corsa that reclaims the YTD top spot there in the process while the Fiesta ranks #3 there. The Corsa is also #2 in England and Wales, the Ford Focus’ only podium finish this month is in Northern Ireland (#2), the Mercedes A-Class is #3 in England and #9 in Wales, the Nissan Qashqai is #3 in Northern Ireland and the Ford Kuga #3 in Wales. Standout performers this month include the Vauxhall Crossland X up to a record 2nd place in Scotland, the Mini up to #4 in England and the Renault Clio up to #4 in Scotland despite a 42% year-on-year drop.
First UK nation Top 10 appearance for the Citroen C4 Spacetourer.
The Hyundai Tucson scores its first ever Top 10 finish in England at #10 and turns out to have been on the brink of snapping its very first UK Top 10 ranking this month. It also ranks #8 in Scotland and #9 in Northern Ireland. The Kia Sportage features in every nation’s Top 10 at #8 in England and #10 in Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales. Finally, it’s a Citroen festival in Northern Ireland with the C4 Cactus up to a record #4, its 2nd ever Top 10 appearance after last June (#6), the C4 Spacetourer scoring ist first Top 10 in any UK nation at #6 and the C3 at #7 posting its 4th Top 10 in the past 12 months after ranking #3 in October 2017, #1 in December 2017 and #5 in April 2018
