Thanks to PAMA we can share with you September sales of locally-produced light vehicles in Pakistan, a fair representation of what the best-seller landscape given high taxes make new car imports negligible. After sinking 20% in August, sales rally back up 2.9% in September to 19.345 units, leading to a year-to-date tally up 9.5% to 192.845. Suzuki (-5%) frankly underperforms at 51.2% share vs. 54.1% YTD, Honda (+32%) is the most dynamic, seeing its share rise to 23.3% vs. 20.8% so far in 2018 whereas Toyota (+0.1%) is stable at 25.5% vs. 25.1%. Model-wise, the Toyota Corolla (+8%) remains comfortably in the lead ahead of the Suzuki Wagon R (+61%) and Honda Civic (+47%) both outselling the Suzuki Mehran (-37%) unlike year-to-date where the Mehran stays #2.
