The Danish new car market is panting a little in 2018, with June sales confirming the trend at -6% to 22.514 units, leading to a year-to-date tally down 2.5% to 120.750 registrations. Volkswagen (-0.4%) dominates the brands ranking head and shoulders at 13.8% share, in line with the 14% it commands year-to-date but way above Peugeot (-5%) at 9.1% and Renault (-21%) at 7.7%. Opel (+8%) braves the negative context in 4th place vs #9 YTD, with Nissan (+18%) posting the only other year-on-year gain in the Top 10. Below, Subaru (+300%), Porsche (+111%), Jaguar (+88%), Mini (+83%), Jeep (+50%), Tesla (+43%), DS (+25%), Alfa Romeo (+20%) and Audi (+15%) impress. Model-wise, the Nissan Qashqai (+62%) shines once again, gaining one spot on May to snap the pole position this month and for the second time in the past four months. It topples the Peugeot 208 (+2%) which however remains in the YTD lead, while the Renault Clio (-6%) rounds up the podium above the VW Polo (+20%), Passat (-3%) and Skoda Octavia (-23%). Notice also the Citroen C3 (+22%), Opel Astra (+23%), Renault Captur (+39%) and Skoda Fabia (+36%) also in great shape inside the Top 15. The VW T-Roc (#28) remains the most popular recent launch ahead of the Opel Grandland X (#31) and Citroen C3 Aircross (#69).
