Belgium June 2018: Hyundai (+33%), Volkswagen (+27%) strong
Hyundai sales gain 33% year-on-year in Belgium in June.

The Belgian new car market gains 2% year-on-year in June to 56.211 registrations, leading to a year-to-date volume up 2.8% to 331.369. Volkswagen vastly outperforms the market with a 27% year-on-year surge to 11.3% share, even posting the 2nd largest gain in the Top 10 after Hyundai (+33%). Renault (-13%) is in difficulty in 2nd place but still lodge a market share (9.5%) superior to its YTD level (9.1%). BMW advances 13% year-on-year and two spots on May to #3, with Dacia (+11%) and Citroen (+6%) also solid in the Top 10 but Mercedes (-26%) and Opel (-25%) freefalling. Further down, notice Seat (+87%), Mitsubishi (+69%), DS (+67%), Jaguar (+54%), Jeep (+51%), Land Rover (+26%), Suzuki (+20%), Kia (+15%). Newly reborn Alpine remains in the Top 40.

The VW Golf (+19%) cements its leadership ahead of the Renault Clio (-6%) and Hyundai Tucson (+6%), reproducing both the YTD 2018 and FY 2017 orders. The Renault Scenic (-35%) remains at a strong 4th place despite a hefty fall, distancing the VW Tiguan (+29%), VW Polo (+7%) and BMW X1 (+68%). The Dacia Sandero makes its way into the YTD Top 10.
