Romania April 2018: Sandero gains more ground YoY than Duster
Local media is disappointed in the new generation Duster’s sales so far.

New car sales in Romania jump 14.9% year-on-year to 7.629 units in April, lifting the YTD volume up 25.4% to 36.272. Homegrown brand leader Dacia (+11%) trails the market but remains ultra-dominant at 23.2% share, distancing Skoda (+13%) at 9.8%, Volkswagen (+26%) at 9.7% and Ford (+13%) at 9%. Suzuki (+145%), Opel (+30%), Hyundai (+20%), BMW (+19%) and Mercedes (+18%) also beat the market in the remainder of the Top 10 with only Renault (+3%) under-performing. Notice also Nissan (+111%), Honda (+78%) and Mazda (+51%). Model-wise, the Dacia Logan (+6%) remains unattainable with the Dacia Duster (+19%) in 2nd place ahead of the Skoda Octavia (-7%) and Dacia Sandero (+39%). The Suzuki Vitara (+67%) and VW Golf (+36%) also shine in the Top 10 while the Opel Crossland X (#13) is up 22 spots on March to top all recent launches (<12 months) ahead of the VW T-Roc (#21), Suzuki Ignis (#61) and Hyundai Kona (#62).
