Kazakhstan April 2018: Lada 4×4 and Granta top market up 25%

The Kazakh new vehicle market continues to recover with May sales up 25% year-on-year to 4.567, leading to a year-to-date volume up 38.7% to 16.327. Lada champions this recovery with deliveries soaring 61% this month and 75% year-to-date both leading to a 22.5% share. Leader in 2017, Toyota edges up 1% to 17.4% at #2 ahead of Hyundai surging 173% to 10.6% at #3. Chinese JAC holds the title of most improved at +438%, distancing Peugeot (+425%), Mazda (+288%), Mitsubishi (+180%), Subaru (+121%) and Volkswagen (+103%). The valiant 40 year-old Lada 4×4 posts a third consecutive win thanks to deliveries up 54% year-on-year, this time followed by the Lada Granta (+71%) while the 2017 leader, the Toyota Camry, drops 20% to #3. Below the GAZ Gazelle, the Lada Vesta is up 7-fold on April 2017 to make it three Ladas in the Top 5 while the Hyundai Accent, Creta and Kia Sportage all post spectacular gains in the Top 10. The JAC S3 remains the best-selling Chinese nameplate in Kazakhstan at #17 overall.
