Hungary May 2018: Vitara and SX4 S-Cross give Suzuki second 1-2
The Suzuki SX4 S-Cross posts a second month ever at #2 in Hungary.

The Hungarian new car market scores an incredible 13th consecutive month of double-digit gains at +17.5% in May to 12.871 registrations, meaning the YTD volume is now up 28.6% to 56.542 units. Brand leader and main local producer Suzuki manages to frankly outpace the market at +45% to 17.3% share vs. 16.4% so far in 2018, with Ford (+11%) and Skoda (+35%) following at a distance and Opel (+7%) and Toyota (+29%) rounding up the Top 5. Model-wise, Suzuki posts a second 1-2 in a row (and in 9 years!) with the Vitara up 59% to 10.6% share and the SX4 S-Cross up 66% to 4.3%. The Skoda Octavia (+5%) is stuck in third place for the 2nd month running but remains at #2 YTD. The Ford Focus (+30%), Opel Astra (+74%) and Fiat 500 (+151%) shine while Dacia manages to place the Duster at #6 (vs. #7 YTD) and the Sandero at #8 (vs. #17 YTD). Outside the Top 10, the Toyota C-HR is up 5 spots on April to #11, the Skoda Rapid is up 8 to #12 and the Hyundai i30 up 9 to #15.
