After a one-year hiatus, Senegal is back among the annual updates of BSCB. 7.279 new light vehicle found a buyer in the country in 2017, a steep 25% decline on the 2015 figure. Toyota tightens its grip even further with a 31.5% share vs. 25.5% a year ago with Mitsubishi solid in 2nd place and 12.5% share. Both Renault (9.2%) and Citroen (8.4%) gain one spot vs. 2015 to #3 and #4 respectively while Nissan (+4) and Kia (+1%) also make their way up the ladder. Reversely, Ford (-4) and Hyundai (-2) stumble down while Tata replaces Peugeot in the Top 10.
The Toyota Hilux is back to #1 in Senegal.
The Toyota Hilux majestically reclaims the top of the models ranking in Senegal with a commanding 11.8% share, relegating the 2015 leader, the Mitsubishi L200, 3.5 percentage points of share below. The valiant Toyota Land Cruiser 70 climbs onto the annual podium above the Toyota Prado while the Citroen C-Elysee impresses as the best-selling sedan in the country at #5 overall, well above the Renault Symbol (#11), the only two such vehicles in the Top 20! The Kia Sportage, Renault Duster, Toyota RAV4 and Fortuner indeed make it 6 SUVs in the Top 10 vs. 3 pickups. Notice also the expensive Toyota Land Cruiser 200 making an appearance at #13.
