Taiwan January 2018: Honda CR-V up 62% in market up 5.5%
The Honda CR-V soars 62% to 4th place overall in Taiwan in January.

Taiwanese new car sales start the year on the right foot with a 5.5% year-on-year gain in January to 47.936 registrations. Brand leader Toyota beats the market at +7% to 27.5% share, distancing Mitsubishi/CMC (+20%), Nissan/Infiniti (-27%) and Honda (+15%). Local carmaker Luxgen (+26%), Volkswagen (+23%) and Mercedes (+8%) also outpace the market in January whereas Lexus (-1%) and BMW (-4%) are in negative. In the models ranking, Toyota monopolises the podium like in FY2017 with the Corolla (-6%), RAV4 (+41%) and Sienta (+17%) overall best-sellers. The Honda CR-V soars 62% to #4 ahead of the CMC Veryca (+25%), Toyota Yaris (-12%) and Nissan Livina (-17%). The Luxgen U6 Turbo is up 34% to #8, its first Top 10 ranking since January 2016, while the Luxgen U5 is back up four spots on December to #14. Among other recent launches, the Ford Escort is up 8 ranks on last month to #30, the Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross lands directly at #35, the Toyota C-HR is up 6 to #37 and the Skoda Kodiaq arrives at #42.
