United Arab Emirates November 2017: Nissan Patrol strong leader

The Nissan Patrol continues to dominate the UAE market.

New car sales in the United Arab Emirates slow down their decline in November at -3.8% to 22.870 units, leading to a year-to-date volume down 14.4% to 242.637 registrations. Toyota remains the most popular carmaker in the country by far but drops much faster than the market at -17% to 28.5% share vs. 30.3% so far this year. In contrast, Nissan gains 14% to 18% share, BMW is up 31% to 9.7% in third place and Mitsubishi up 18% to 9.2% at #4. Ram (+152%), Volvo (+123%), Honda (+99%), Peugeot (+98%), Suzuki (+85%) Mazda (+57%), Mini (+24%) and Jeep (+21%) also impress.

The BMW X5 is up to #3 in the UAE in November. 

The Nissan Patrol (+29%) brilliantly holds onto the models pole position with 8.2% share vs. 7.5% year-to-date, frankly outselling its archenemy the Toyota Land Cruiser down 11% to 5.9% for the month vs. 6.7% year-to-date. The BMW X5 shoots up 35% to third place vs. #7 so far in 2017, followed by the Mitsubishi Pajero (+29% and making the Top 4 100% composed of large SUVs), Toyota Camry (+42%) and Hilux (-27%). Further down, the Mitsubishi Lancer EX (+36%), Nissan Sunny (+64%), Mitsubishi L200 (+51%), Nissan Altima (+54%), BMW 5 Series (+739%) and Honda Accord (+617%) make themselves noticed in the Top 25. The Nissan Kicks (#26) is the only recent launch in the Top 50, distancing the Range Rover Velar (#53) and Mazda CX-3 (#82).
