Vietnam November 2017: Toyota Innova on podium in market down 13%

New light vehicle sales in Vietnam lodge an eighth consecutive month of year-on-year declines at -13% in November to 24.752 registrations, pulling the year-to-date tally down 9.5% to 244.873 units. For once, Toyota is the best-selling manufacturer in the country, following the market at -12% to 21.7% share and outselling YTD leader Thaco-Kia down 33% to 19.9% of the Vietnamese market. Inside the Top 10, Mazda (-10%), Ford (-7%), Suzuki (-6%), Chevrolet (-1%) beat the market with Isuzu (+8%) and Hino (+153%) posting gains. Over in the models ranking, the Toyota Vios (+4%) cements its lead, followed by the Ford Ranger (+9%) while the Toyota Innova leaps five spots on October to land on the third step of the podium with sales up 22%. The Mazda3 (-3%) and CX-5 (-4%) round up the Top 5. Notice also the Toyota Corolla Altis (+15%), Chevrolet Colorado (+229%), Toyota Camry (+54%) and Mitsubishi Pajero Sport (+248%) all posting gains ranging from solid to spectacular.
