Taiwan November 2017: Lexus NX shines, Ford Escort lands

New car sales in Taiwan are up 5.6% year-on-year in November to 40.436 units, lifting the year-to-date volume up 1.2% to 402.452 sales. Toyota holds roughly 1/4 of the market as usual, down 9% to 24.3% share above Nissan/Infiniti (+6%) passing Mitsubishi/CMC (+11%). Honda shoots up 31%, Mercedes is up 11% to #5, Luxgen up 18% to #7 and Lexus up 22% to #9. In the models ranking, the Toyota Corolla continues to reign supreme but drops 14% to 8.8% share, distancing the Toyota RAV4 at 7% (-1%) and the Toyota Sienta at 3.5% (+209%) and replicating the YTD podium. The Honda CR-V is up 28% to remain in 4th place, the Honda HR-V is up 49% to #7, the Nissan Livina up 29% to #8 and the recently launched Luxgen U5 seems to have peaked already, slipping out of the Top 10 and down four spots on October to #11. The Lexus NX is up a flamboyant 165% to leap up to #13 overall, the Suzuki Swift is up 4-fold to #30 and the Ford Escort, imported from China, lands directly at #50.
