Finland November 2017: Qashqai, Octavia top market up 7.2%

Third consecutive month in the Finnish pole position for the Nissan Qashqai.

The Finnish new car market is up a solid 7.2% year-on-year in November to 9.617 registrations, yet the year-to-date tally remains in negative territory at -0.5% to 109.162 units. Market leaders Toyota (-10%) and Volkswagen (-3%) both underperform and lose ground, while Skoda (+30%) and Volvo (+16%) advance much faster and gain market share. Inside the Top 10, Nissan (+11%), Kia (+15%), Renault (+23%) and Opel (+27%) also shine. Further down, notice Hyundai (+25%), Mini (+38%), Peugeot (+53%), Land Rover (+79%), Alfa Romeo (+100%), Fiat (+240%) and Tesla (+320%). Model-wise, the Nissan Qashqai signs a third consecutive month in the lead thanks to sales up 17% year-on-year, but its advantage over the Skoda Octavia thaws two just 6 units in November. The Qashqai remains a distant #2 YTD, 556 sales below the Octavia. The VW Golf is up 18% to remain at #3, ahead of the Toyota Yaris (+10%) while the Ford Focus is back up 7 spots on October to #5 but down 35% year-on-year. The Ford Fiesta (+55%), Volvo XC60 (+126%) and Opel Mokka (+83%) also shine while the Toyota C-HR celebrates one year in market by reentering the Finnish Top 20 at #18. The Hyundai i20 returns at #11.
