Pakistan July 2017: Honda threatens Toyota in market up 41%

Local association PAMA releases sales of locally-produced light vehicles in Pakistan, up a whopping 41% year-on-year in July to 19.577 which leads to a year-to-date tally up 14% to 135.163. Market leader Suzuki roughly follows the market at +37% to a dominant 53.4% share, but Toyota edges up by a shy 11% to 23.6% vs. 26.7% year-to-date, meaning it is now threatened for 2nd place by Honda surging 113% to 23% thanks to the new Civc and the recently launched BR-V. The Toyota Corolla remains the most popular nameplate in Pakistan but only gains 5% just as the Suzuki Mehran is up an equally shy 11%. The Honda Civic soars by an estimated 231%, the Suzuki Wagon R is up 77% and the Cultus up 66%.
