We can now share with you Full Year 2016 data showing a market in freefall at -40% compared to 2015 to 166.242 registrations. Big change atop the Egyptian brands ranking this year: thanks to a series of new models, Hyundai manages to only drop 11% to hit 23.1% market share vs. 15.6% in 2015, overtaking traditional leader Chevrolet following the market at -41% to 18.5% share. In third place, Nissan also gains significant share thanks to a moderate 16% drop, as does Kia (-20%) up two spots to #4. Toyota (-52%) is down one rank to #5 while Speranza (aka Chery) more than doubles its sales (+109%) to go from #16 in 2015 to #6 this year. Notice also Jeep up 37% to break into the Top 10 at #10 whereas it ranked #17 in 2015.
