Vietnam June 2017: Toyota Vios shoots up 245% to 11% share

New vehicle sales in Vietnam edge down 0.2% year-on-year in June to 24.365 registrations, bringing the year-to-date tally down 1.2% to 134.268 units. Toyota takes off this month with sales surging 71% to 28% share, for once outselling Thaco-Kia down 24% to 21.5% of the Vietnamese market. Ford (+2%) holds onto the third place above Mazda (-11%), Honda (+14%) and Hyundai (-10%) while Chevrolet (+17%) and Isuzu (+20%) shine. Further down, Mitsubishi (+17%) and Nissan (+173%) also make themselves noticed. In the models ranking, the Toyota Vios shoots up 245% to hit a stunning 11% share, distancing the Toyota Fortuner also in great shape at +42% to 7.1% of the market. The Toyota Innova (+133%) at #4 and Kia Morning (+42%) also post spectacular gains inside the Top 5 whereas the Ford Ranger retreats 7% to #3. Notice also the Honda City up 63%, the Chevrolet Colorado up 142% and the Ford Everest/Explorer up 314%.
