Thanks to our partnership with cartube.co.il, we can share with you today March brands and Q1 models data for Israel. In March, the Israeli new car market is down 1.3% year-on-year to 28.167 registrations but thanks to an all-time high score in January, the First Quarter tally is still up 8.9% at 98.667 units. The Top 3 best-selling carmakers all lose more ground than the market in January, resulting is thawed market shares: Hyundai (-3%) dominates ahead of Kia (-4%) and Toyota (-10%), whereas Nissan (+42%), Suzuki (+28%), Mitsubishi (+15%), Citroen (+94%) and Renault (+11%) all shine within the Top 10. Beyond, notice Seat (+71%), BMW (+39%), Jeep (+29%), Dacia (+23%), Lexus (+23%) and Mercedes (+22%) all posting spectacular gains.
Over in the models ranking, the SUV wave continues to engulf the Israeli charts with the Kia Sportage keeping the pole position it held for the first time over the Full Year 2016, and now followed by the Hyundai Tucson knocking the Kia Picanto down to #3. The Toyota Corolla, Skoda Octavia and Hyundai i10 follow just above the Mitsubishi Outlander. But the most notable performance over the First Quarter 2017 in Israel as far as models are concerned is the 11th place of the hybrid Hyundai Ioniq with 1.879 sales and just under 2% market share. Notice also the Toyota C-HR already landing at #30 over the period despite only being present for two months, the Nissan Sentra up to #33 and the Kia Niro up to #34.
